I'm here....but off tomorrow!

Well, i thought i should make another attempt at my blog. We're actually off to Wales soon so it won't be updated then, but i am going to try and keep doing it when we get back! I won't bother writing about what we've been up ti since February as that would just be silly, but we've been busy and no doubt done some lovely things!

I'm all packed and have just been updating my ipod for a bit of music in the car - but annoyingly its now updating software and says it will take something like 96 mins - so that's my evening planned!

I'm off to Boston at the end of September with my friend Bee which is very exciting! Tickets have been booked so its a done deal now!

Anyway, i'm off, but i will return properly in due course!

Good to get away

Well it's been a few days since we got back from the Church weekend away. I had such a good time! It was great being back at Ringsfield and it didn't really seem much different. It was just a good time of teaching, spending time with each other and generally lots of laughing! It's good to spend time with your mates!

Bekky is finally on her half term holiday and to be honest she looks like she needs a good rest! I don't think it's been a particularly long term but she seems pretty tired! As it's her birthday this week we've got a few things planned. I'm taking her to see The Sound of Music Tuesday evening, then on her actual birthday she wants to go to the "Red Cafe" for lunch - which is basically the greasy spoon round the corner (she's got taste my girl has) and then we're going into Oxford Street. Thursday we're going to Jenny's and Bekky is going to stay there for a couple of nights. I think she did that last year for her birthday - it's good it's during half term as she can then see Charlotte (and now Alfie) near her birthday! Michael is on holiday this week - so although I am working it shouldn't be as busy!

Andrew and Dawn are coming tomorrow, it'll be nice to finally meet her! Sunday we're going out to 'afternoon tea' at our friends house. That's how posh we are!!!

It's Monday Again!

How can it be Monday again? Sometimes I find it hard to believe that Saturday and Sunday have the same number of hours as normal days of the week - they just seem to go so much quicker!

Weekend was good. Got my hair done on Saturday at Tracy's - now a bit blonder than i was. I then got back in time to watch the rugby - not that that was really worth it. Still can't quite believe that from being so far in the lead we then lost. Sunday was Church and that was about it.

Work was ok today Michael was off so was just able to get through work at my own pace and managed to get a lot done which was good.

We've got our Church Weekend Away coming up which I'm really looking forward to. We are going to Ringsfield Hallwhich funnily enough is where I've been as a youngster for our church weekends away. It'll be very odd seeing it now - I always thought it was such a big place but i bet it's not that big at all. Mind you it might seem the same, I'm not much taller than i was back then!!! It will be lovely to take Boo somewhere where i used to go as a youngster!

What's happening.........

I'm back!

Happy 2008 - only a month late!

Christmas has been and gone. We had a really nice one. Mum and Andrew arrived late Christmas Eve and we went to Jenny and Matt's which was really lovely! Jenny cooked a great Christmas lunch and it was just a really nice relaxed day!

Matt passed his driving test at the end of November and we have got a car which has been fantastic - so we we're able to take mum back to Norfolk on Boxing Day.

Jenny, a very pregnant Michelle, Jessica and I all went to see Take That at the beginning of December. It was fantastic as we expected! There was a slight hiccup when Rob accidently threw the tickets in the bin - so Alison had to come to Greenwich to pick up some more tickets for us - but it was all worth it!!

Work has been really busy. I'm now working 4 days a week for Michael which is working out ok - took a bit of getting used to but I think i'm getting used to it now! I've also been looking after my friends little boy on a Wednesday which is lovely - he's so sweet!

We've also had my beautiful niece's 8th Birthday - we had another lovely afternoon at Jenny's.

It'll soon be Bekky's 7th birthday - can't believe how quickly she is growing up!

Well, i'm signing off now - i'll try and do a more interesting blog next time!!!

At Home

I'm at home today as Bekky woke up not very well. She's had what seems to be a cold for a few days now, but this morning was a bit feverish and had a headache, and looked pretty bad, so I kept her off school! Was meant to be a bit of a busy day at work today as the Archdeacon is coming for his visitation this evening, but I rang Michael and I'll pop in this afternoon with her (be good for her to get a bit of fresh air) and I'll also pick up some work that i can do at home tomorrow if she's going to be off then too. Shame she is off today as it means we can't see the fireworks this evening - but at least we saw some with Anne when we were at hers at the weekend. We had a really nice weekend at hers and went bowling on Saturday afternoon which was a good laugh. I'd forgotten how hard it is, and that was with the sides up!!

At least I can spend the day catching up on TV with Boo, we're currently watching Are you Smarter than a 10 year old which she really likes! We'll need to watch the X Factor too, although Anne and I sneakily watched it when Matt and Bekky had gone to bed - outrageous really that Futureproof went home, especially considering that two of the guys in Danni's group are weak I think. Talking of things off the TV - I am quite pleased that the Spice Girls have reformed, but I do think they're new video is a bit risque for Children in Need! I do like the song tho! And i probably would've been quite up for going to see them! My sadness reigns on!!!

Update!

As you can see we have been to see the lovely Alfie - well, we have seen him several times now and he's lovely!!!! As you can see Bekky was thrilled!!

Haven't blogged for ages- but my brother assured me that he reads it and so does Carl (hello!) so I should update it at least!

Let me think whats new......

Bekky is settling into year 2 at school very well - seems to like her teacher and doesn't generally complain about going. She is also now going to computer club after school on a Wednesday which is something that I thought I would never see!

Bekky has been to her first Arsenal game - we went with Neil and some friends from Church. It was only a Barclays Championship game (i think) so it was a reserve team, but she really loved it. I think for her it was mainly about the atmosphere. Arsenal did win 2 - 0, but neither Bekky or I saw the goals properly as we are too short and they were both our end so people obviously stood up! It was a really late night - but was a joy to see her little face. She got a new hat too - so that went down well!

Matt has passed his theory driving test - so hopefully not too long before he can take the practical, and then we can scoot about in a car.

We have booked a holiday near Devon next May with Matt's parents and Jenny and the gang which will be lovely! It's a really big cottage and I'm already excited about it even tho it's ages away!!!

Work is going ok! Michael has been away this week, so it's been great to finally catch up on some long outstanding work!!

We are still thinking about moving, but have shifted it now to somewhere in Sussex - maybe Haywards Heath - as I would like to still be able to come in for work which I could do from there. I will work more days, but less hours, and I think still have a day off a week so I can catch up on things and also have the availability of seeing mum.

Matt's off to the beer festival in Norwich this weekend with Andrew, so Boo and I are seeing Katie in the morning as she is down for the weekend and then we are going to see Ratatouille (it's meant to be quite good) then we'll come back and eat tea and watch the x factor! It's good to have a daughter!!!

Hope thats kept you both going!!!

Welcome Alfie!

Hooray....Jenny has had her baby!!! Alfie James blackman was finally born on Sunday evening at 7.08pm after a very tense weekend waiting for news! I would publish a picture, but i have nicked them off Jenny's facebook page, so I should either ask her first, or wait until we have visited him Saturday and taken my own! I'm so excited about going to see him! Bekky is probably more excited (if that's possible) about visiting her new brother!? She's into this whole thing about Jenny being her mum, and she is Charlotte's twin, so that therefore makes alfie her new brother! Anyway, photos will follow shortly!!!

Bekky seems to have settled into Year 2 well...she seemed quite pleased to be going back and seeing her new friends. Her teacher seems nice, and it's all very grown up now as we have to wait in the playground for them at the end of the day! It was such a big year last year with her learning to read, and write properly, I wonder what delights this year will bring!
